London JS Conf

London JS Conf is a brand new JavaScript Conference from the team behind London JS, the monthly JavaScript meet-up in London.

Through running London JS, we've worked with some fantastic speakers, met some amazing people and learnt a whole lot about JavaScript. The community that you've all helped to build up is wonderful and as a way of saying thank you and celebrating JavaScript, we'd like to bring you all together for London JS Conf.

On the 13th of February 2014, we'll be descending on the Prince Charles Cinema for a one-day two-track JavaScript focused day of learning and discovery. We've also planned a range of special events around the conference and we hope you can join us for them.

All of the tickets are gone, but make sure to sign up to the waitlist and we'll try and release tickets when we can!

Student Ticket Competition with Meteor

We wanted to make sure that everyone has a chance to attend London JS Conf and Meteor have kindly made that possible. We have ten student tickets up for grabs and to give them out we’re holding an app-making competition!

To enter the competition, you need to build and deploy a Meteor app using "meteor deploy". If you’ve already built an app using Meteor, you’re welcome to submit it for consideration. When you’ve got your entry ready, all you need to do is tweet a link to your application with the hashtags #meteorjs & #londonjsconf. We’ll then pick the best ten applications and contact winners about coming to the conference.

Please submit your application by January 31st to have a chance to win!

Special Features

The day before the conference we've arranged some awesome events to get you excited for the following day. There will be nodecopters, there will be ghosts and there will be photography. Check out what we've planned and await more details!

Nodecopters

A nodecopter is a quadcopter that can be controlled using node.js. For a whole day, each team will get their hands on a Parrot AR Drone with a goal to do something awesome with it. The ceiling's the limit! If you're looking for inspiration you can check out the nodecopter website for information on previous events & hacks.

Ghost Crawl

London has a fantastic history that should be shared, though we'd like to share it with a twist. Luke Murphy, our resident ghost hunter, will be taking attendees around London and sharing with them the myths, tales and oddities that London has to offer. Luke will take everyone around London, crawling from pub to pub accross the city and exploring a range of tales and tidbits of history that have a scary undercurrent.

Photo Walk

It's time to grab your camera! We'll be taking a walk through a popular London Museum and capturing it all through our lens. No need for special equipment, just bring something to take photos with, learn and enjoy!
